During this performance members of the circulating group periodically made their way to the table to deliver their address to the audience. Each performer told a story, made a comment, or said what felt pressing to be said out loud while moving the stones along the gravel. The noise of the stones on the gravel became a means of self-imposed censoring. The work addresses the tension between the urge to speak and the simultaneous urge to obscure, protect, or withhold. The audience heard fragments of phrases and words with the friction of the stone.
